Student-athlete career readiness
Every athlete deserves a game plan for what comes next.
Beyond the Jersey helps athletic departments give student-athletes the structure, language and individualized coaching to turn their competitive experience into career momentum.
Listen to the athletes
Career readiness can still feel unclear, isolated and late.
These early student-athlete perspectives reveal a practical gap: campus resources do not always reach athletes in a way that fits their schedule, language and transition from sport.
No clear path
“I’m just not sure how to navigate [a career search] while playing baseball.”
Current student-athlete
Preparing alone
“I’ve done most of [my career preparation] myself.”
Former Division I student-athlete
Limited exposure
“There are things Jared discussed with me that I had never talked about with anyone in college… The work environment surprises so many of us.”

The opportunity
These are not motivation problems.
They are time, translation and navigation problems—and they are solvable.
Time
Training, travel, academics and competition leave little margin for an unstructured career search.
Translation
Athletes have employer-ready strengths, but often need help expressing their value beyond sport.
Navigation
Resources may exist, but athletes still need an individualized roadmap, coaching and accountability.
The Beyond the Jersey model
A career launch system built around the athlete’s reality.
The program brings career readiness into the student-athlete experience through a clear sequence of education, execution and coaching.

I graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 2022 with an Exercise Science - Sport Administration degree. I was forced to think outside of the box to break into my career which is where I began my journey of professional development methodology. Through these methods, I landed a 6-figure paying job at Bank of America right out of college, and advanced to a Vice President at Bank of America at the age of 24. In 2024, I launched Career Craft Hub where I have helped dozens of individuals with professional development and career advancement. I am now 25 years old with an opportunity to showcase these best practices to college students and alumni who can relate to someone near their age who has had success.
